1. We have been married 16 months, 8 days and counting. We had an amazing wedding and wonderful honeymoon in St. Lucia.

2. I am three months older than Oliver so we are only the same age for 9 months! He refers to me as “the older women”, but of course, I am the one who “robbed the cradle”
3. We live in Memphis, which we really love, unless we watch the news. Even though we are in Tennessee, we feel like we are still in Mississippi. I can’t tell you the name of the governor, senators, or representatives in TN—of course, Oliver can.
4. Twenty five is definitely the time in between all your friends getting married, and all your friends having babies. In the last few years, we have been in eight weddings combined. One of my best friends, Jill just had a baby and Oliver’s sister is due in January!
5. We love Ole Miss. Oliver loves the football and accounting school a lot more than I do. We do not miss a football game. But I love Tri Delt! We are going to retire to Oxford, Oliver is going to teach accounting and I am going to be the Tri Delt house mother.
6. Our dog, Ally, is extremely spoiled. We usually give her whatever we have for dinner, if I was a dog I wouldn’t want to eat the same thing every day.
7. Some people (I won’t name names) seem to think that Oliver is “under weight” or “sickly” looking at 25. Please quit spreading these rumors. He is fine and y’all are worrying his mother. I promise I feed him….he just doesn’t gain weight!
8. Our favorite “chores”-I absolutely love to do laundry. Oliver hates this, he is worried about the MLGW bill. He literally has limited the number of times I can do laundry a week (but he works late and what he doesn’t know won’t hurt him). Oliver loves to cook and is a very good cook (a lot better than me). His cooking takes after his dad—he puts a stick of butter in everything.
9. We love Christmas at our house. Last year we didn’t have an angel for our tree, and it was a big ordeal. But Poppy (Oliver’s grandmother) gave us one and we can’t wait to put her up this year!
10. Coffee. We drink a lot of Coffee. Currently our favorite is Pleasant Morning Buzz from Whole Foods. For the first couple of months of our marriage, I was unaware that my coffee was “weak”. Oliver was to nice to say anything, but Net and Aunt Renie came to stay and informed be it was undrinkable. Oliver completely agreed, but now its very strong.
11. Grocery Shopping. We love it. We don’t live close to a Wal-Mart, so we do our shopping at Kroger. Most weekends include at least one trip to Whole Foods, Fresh Market, and Busters (which really isn’t groceries, but you can’t buy wine in the grocery store in TN). These little trips bust the budget, every time.
12. My favorite “hobby” is walking. Oliver is nice enough to go walking with me most days and I think he is starting to enjoy it!
13. Pei Wei and any cheap Mexican Restaurant—Pei Wei is Oliver’s favorite place to go eat in Memphis. It’s owned by PF Chang’s and is really good. My favorite is ANY cheap Mexican place, the cheaper/dirtier the better.
14. We love wine. One day, hopefully sooner than later, we really want to go to Napa Valley. Cabernet is our favorite.
15. Oliver constantly checks his email, which is easier now that he has a Blackberry. Mine is usually only checked during the week, while I am in class. Oliver answers his phone every time it rings. I don’t—but I am trying to be better about it!
16. Oliver’s favorite movie: For Love of the Game. Which is funny, b/c if you knew him as a child, you would know his experience with baseball. I will be eternally grateful to Jacob Whalen for telling me that story. My favorite movie: Breakfast at Tiffany’s. It had been my favorite movie for a long time before I realized Audrey Hepburn was basically a prostitute.
17. We met in Sparky Reardon’s University Studies class our freshmen year of college. At the beginning of the class, I thought Oliver the loud mouthed boy who couldn’t stop talking about the Delta and Greenwood. But by the end of the class, I had a crush on him…….Our first real date was an Ole Miss football game (big surprise there!) in November.
18. Oliver’s idea of a vacation is going snow skiing……my idea of a vacation is going to the beach…..we are going to have to do some serious compromising when it comes time for family vacations………..
19. If Oliver was not an auditor, I think he would have been an exterminator……he takes extreme pride in killing the ants that come into my kitchen when the weather changes. I would be a postman. I love the mail, and our postman always looks like he’s having the best day. I would get to walk all day……
20. We love the mornings. In college, I was not allowed to call Oliver before 10 am. Now, he is the one waking me up at 5 am. Sometimes we go walking, but most of the time we just sit around drink coffee and watch tv. I am obsessed with the Today Show, especially Ann Currie.
21. Our favorite tv shows: Desperate House Wives (mine), Boston Legal (Oliver’s), Grey’s (both), Morning Joe (Oliver’s) and Regis and Kelly (mine).
22. We both really love to read. But we read completely different books. Oliver reads things like The Post American World and books about economics (for fun, in his free time). I read books like The Shopaholic Series, Jane Green, and most recently the vampire book, Twilight. Books that do not make you think.
23. Our favorite restaurant is Lusco’s in Greenwood. Oliver’s other favorite restaurants are 208 in Oxford and Interim in Memphis. My favorite restaurants are Sauces in Memphis, Boure and Old Taylor both in Oxford.
24. One day we want to have three children. Since we look a lot alike, I think they will look like us. They will be tall, skinny, have dirty blond hair, blue eyes, and be extremely clumsy….
25. We LOVE being married….it’s so much fun to live with your best friend….and as Robert Browning said, “Grow old along with me, the best is yet to come.”
This past weekend Oliver tried out for Wheel of Fortune in Tunica. He did not get picked!
I am going to be an aunt in 10 weeks. This picture is from Edi's baby shower last Sunday. The hostesses from left to right: me, Mary Nelda Lott, Edi, Beth Williams, and Melissa Tribble. We had so much fun and Edi got a lot of good stuff!
