Sometimes...

Sometimes it feels like I have this many children!  We have entered the world of pretend play and its so sweet.....we have tub doll in the yellow socks, uncle thomas in the white gown and baby reese in the purple bumbo.  Elizabeth Magee tells her babies bye before we leave the house and loves to "mama" them all day long!

Summertime!

What would we do without the pool and sweet Annie?  We go almost everyday.  It is the most fun when our friends are there.  Elizabeth Magee says constantly, "I love Annie" and "I love Ticer" -- our two favorite pool friends!

The twins take their morning nap in the nursery while EM and her friends hang out at the pool -- the perfect break for all of us.  It is really sweet that when EM is ready to go she says, "Mama, go get babies and go home."  I think she is finally starting to recognize them as part of our family.  When Poppy is crying (and she is ALWAYS crying), Elizabeth Magee will kiss her and say, "Mama come get you up" or "Mama come back."

Normal Day

“Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart. Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so. One day I shall dig my nails into the earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more than all the world, your return.” ― quote by Mary Jean Irion

This may be my favorite photo ever.  It captures our normal day which I am trying to cherish.....I know my babies won't stay babies and I want to cherish every.single.day!  Poppy's on the left and Mary Thorne on the right -- big sister still won't pay a bit of attention to the tv but the twins (especially Mary Thorne) are captivated by it!

Our Week in Miss

The girls and I spent last week in Mississippi.  I helped with a trial in Grenada last Tuesday so we headed to Greenwood on Monday morning.  It was a great little trip and we got to visit with a lot of people in 6 days.

First stop was Greenwood.  Sam and Elizabeth Magee had a great time playing -- the age gap (6 months) is really closing in.

Biscuit and Poppy kept all three while I worked on Tuesday and enjoyed an afternoon at the Alluvian Spa on Wednesday.

Net and Mary Thorne had a little bonding time on Thursday.....while I stayed at the pool and Elizabeth Magee went to a Red Birds game with Siggi and Frank.  Elizabeth Magee is still talking about the big red bird and says, "I love Frank"!

I spent Friday night in Memphis and it was great to catch up with our friends -- but sadly I took no pictures!  It was my first night away from the twins and it was wonderful to sleep till 7!  I can't complain about them though -- they've been sleeping till 6:30 a.m.!

On the way back to Bham, I stopped at Jill's house to feed the babies and finally got to meet sweet Emerson!

Mother's Morning Out Comparison

Here's a little comparison of how much Elizabeth Magee changed this "school" year.  She started Mother's Morning Out at Second Pres in Memphis last August.  She was in a Size 1 Apron Dress from the Women's Exchange and size 5 Keds.  She ended the year in May at St. Luke's in Birmingham in a Size 2 Apron Dress, bigger bow, and size 8 sandals!  Elizabeth Magee loved both MMO programs and never cried when I dropped her off!  She handled the move with such grace --- if only it was that easy for grown ups!

She wasn't potty trained in August and had a very limited understandable vocabulary.   By the end of the year, she was completely potty trained and talks in full sentences!

Two Months and Beach Trip

Dee came to meet the twins on their 2 month birthday.  At their two month appointment Mary Throne weighed 8.11 and Poppy weighed 8.3.  They are both 22.5 inches tall.

We've spent the last week at the beach with my family.  We had a great time and it was really fun to see Elizabeth Magee at the beach.  She played all day in the sand....her favorite was to cook -- either honey, oatmeal, or cheese toast!

Our attempt at a family photo was unsuccessful -- hopefully we can get ONE good picture before Christmas cards!

The twins turned 10 weeks yesterday and slept through the night for the first time last night -- we are hoping for a repeat tonight!!!
