Elizabeth Magee is 5!!

I heard Elizabeth Magee introduce herself to another little girl today by saying, "I'm Elizabeth Magee.  I'm 5. This is my sister, Poppy, she's 2 and her twin sister is over there with my mom."  I about fainted.  How did she get so big?  How is she talking in complete sentences and introducing her sisters?  She should still be two and calling herself "you."  Last week, we registered her for 5K.  I cried.

But on February 20th - we just CELEBRATED - with 30 of her friends at 32 Degrees.  We had a pinata and a cookie cake.  I think she had a good time.  She GREATLY appreciated all her presents!

At 5, Elizabeth Magee can write her WHOLE name and is very interested in reading and writing.  She's turned into craft person.  I think she spends two hours a day coloring and writing.  She loves to read books (especially Curious George) and watch Paw Patrol.  She's still not real sure what is "real" (for example, "is a clown real?  what about the big bad wolf?).  She doesn't quite understand the "truth"  she told our babysitter last week that Poppy was allergic to chocolate!
 She loves all things sweet but especially candy.  She likes sunny, warm weather.  She is not a fan of winter.  Last week, we had a gross day.  I picked her up from school and she said, "It's a rainy, windy cold day.  I don't like it."    She loves school and loves her teacher.  She has never once said she wanted to stay home from school.  Her best friend at school is Marnie.  I took them to Chuckie Cheese the day before her birthday.  They had SO much fun.  Marnie ran to the Chuckie Cheese Mouse but EM clung to me.  I'll take it.....  she loves her sisters SO much.  Poppy gets upset if EM won't come into her room after lights out.  She'll come upstairs crying and say, "Gee Gee won't make me happy."

On Saturday, Oliver competed in the Iron Tribe 5k.  It looked like pure hell.  He finished 10th!  I'm very proud but not surprised!

After the race, the twins and I made a 24 hour trip to Philadelphia for Audrey's 3rd birthday.  Mary Thorne had a BLAST at the party and kept having to go hug the "princess."

We spent the night and they girls played non-stop for hours!  It's pretty special to watch them grow up together!

February Fun

I'm having a hard time finding time to blog these days!  Life is so fun but we are constantly on the go.  The twins have dropped their afternoon naps so my two hours of being in a quiet house every day are OVER.  Which is kinda of nice.  We can go all day long.

Last week, Elizabeth Magee's school had a Grandparent Art Show.  We showed up in full force - Siggi, Net, Aunt Sis, Baby Caroline, Biscuit and Mark.  

Net spent Sunday - Thursday with us and Sis and Mom came Tuesday - Thursday.  We had  a house full and it was so fun.  Net and I took Mary Thorne for her first real manicure and she had a blast.....totally is going to be a beauty shop girl!  Elizabeth Magee was a little under the weather and stayed home from school with Net for two days.

The girls LOVED playing with Caroline.  She loved playing with them (and loved watching all their shows)!  Mary Thorne took her role as big cousin very seriously!

Poppy and Mary Thorne have started to talk a little bit about their friends at school.  I don't really know these friends and honestly haven't made the effort I made when EM was this age.  Their friend Lily had a birthday party last week at Build a Bear.  It was so fun to see them interact with their friends and see who they are talking about.  Mary Thorne and Lily walked around hand in hand and loved on each other.  Since the party she's talked of nothing but Lily.  We saw her at Storyt Time this week and MT said, "LILY, she's my best friend."

Poppy's look is really changing to me.....her round face is really thinning out.  She's also having a little problem sleeping.  She doesn't seem to be tired at night, wakes up at least once in the night, and is up by 5:50.....we are all a little tired these days!  But she loves telling us stories --like "I have cat, but then he turned into an alligator but I spanked him and but him in jail."  She's pretty cute!
