6 Months!

We were about a week late taking our "half birthday" pictures! It's a little harder this month to get Elizabeth Magee to hold a piece of paper.....she tries to eat it!

We were also about a week late on our six months shots and check-up....but all was well! EM now weighs 15.4 lbs and is 26 inches long! For the first time I remembered to give her the Tylenol BEFORE the shots and she cried for less than a minute.

She isn't quite sitting up on her own but loves to be in the sitting position and LOVES to stand up (with assistance)!

And her favorite thing......eating paper!

Looking back these have been the fastest six months of my life! I can't believe she's six months....I know February will be here before we know it!

Source of Joy

Elizabeth Magee's new favorite play time.....you cannot throw her high enough......please excuse the unmade bed -- I was in the process of changing the sheets!

Her little personalty is coming out big time! She is really such a source of joy and I love the way her eyes light up the second she gets excited about something!

For the last two months her favorite "toy" has been a birthday card that Oliver gave me last year. It stayed in my car for almost a year. One day we were taking Madeline home and EM was really fussy. Madeline handed her the card and that was it...she didn't make a peep for the rest of the ride. I started carrying the card in the diaper bag.....we left it in Greenwood several weeks ago so I thought she wouldn't remember when Biscuit brought it back. But no...even after not seeing it for two weeks -- she remembered it and loved it again. It ripped in two about three weeks ago and she's eaten the edges off of both pieces....

Ducks!

A college friend, Lindsey Brown, has recently moved to Memphis. She is taking Oprah's place on NBC. Literally. Her show starts next Monday at 4:00 p.m. Elizabeth Magee enjoyed getting to know her first famous friend! But seriously, we are all so proud that Lindsey is doing so well -- we can't wait to watch her on tv!

On Sunday, we went to Little Rock for a doctors appointmnet. We stayed at the Peabody. The Peabody in Arkansas is NOT the same as in Memphis. The valet parked our car at 4:00 p.m. At 5:00 p.m. the same valet was the Duck Master. Anyhoo, EM LOVED the ducks. I don't think I've ever seen her so excited. The last little duck stopped about a foot from her and looked her in the eye. She squealed very loudly in excitment and was "talking" non stop for about 5 minutes. Cutest thing ever!

How cute is this picture? We got to have dinner with this little guy on Sunday night. He's a few months older than EM and was trying out his moves.....I think they will be great friends...just like their parents and grandparents!

We went to Arkansas Children's Hospital on Monday to see Dr. Lisa Buckmiller. She is one of the top doctors in the country that specializes in hemangonias. She reccommended we do surgery at 10 months. Because of the size of the hemangonia, EM will have to have surgery eventually --- even if we let in involute on it's own. So we scheduled the surgery for December 16. Neither the surgery nor recovery is painful because the doctors only cut through issue - not muscle. It's an outpaitent surgery and she will have to take tylenol for a few days. We will go back on December 22 to have the stiches removed. The only scary part for me is that she will have to be put under general anesthesia twice. I've already started praying up the day, the doctor, and especially the anesthesiologist....any additional prayers are very appreciated!

My little girl is so beautiful inside and out! She's growing so fast. Yesterday she weighed 14.6 pounds. She is almost sitting up. We went to the grocery store yesterday and I had her on my hip....she insisted on having one hand on the shopping cart so she could help push. It took about three times as long to grocery shop but it was worth it.

One last thing, when we picked her up from the nursery on Sunday we were told she was the ONLY baby that hadn't cried at all -- so PROUD!

LONG WEEK

Does anyone else feel like this has been a really LONG week? Maybe it's because school started back this week. Not that effects my life AT ALL (except traffic is a little heavier and my Mom is not coming up every Wednesday). Maybe it's because Sis has been at the beach all week....and having wonderful food and lazy days. Maybe it's because we're in that awkard time between summer and fall. It's still so hot you know it's summer but it's almost fall at the same time. Oliver keeps reminding me football season starts in three weeks.

It's been a good week. Elizabeth Magee is changing. Every. Single. Day. I swear, her personality is starting to pop --- I think she's going to be a lot like Oliver. She doesn't so much babble as squeal. I'll try to get it on video and post it. Although I have NO idea how to do that....I'll ask Sis.

After weeks of walking down the street to use the neighbor's swing, EM got her own. She loves it. Does not want to come in. Wants to swing morning, noon, and night. I don't know who could have an OCD-almost-6-month-old??? The apple does not fall far!

We got some good quality Net time in this week......

I walked into the living room last night to find EM reading Babywise.....she's trying to figure out what she should be doing next..... and then she woke up at 4:00 a.m. for the first time in 3 months this morning!

Thinking real hard about all the things she learned reading Babywise!

Weekend at Home

How cute are these two? Thomas was 8 weeks on Friday and Elizabeth Magee is 24 weeks today. EM is A LOT taller than Thomas but he's catching up with her weight wise really fast!
Elizabeth Magee is now "eating" three meals a day --- we started peas today and she likes them just as much as sweet potatos.....I think they stink to high heaven but that's ok!
