Lost and FOUND!!!

Well we ALMOST had a terrible end to today. I got off a little early and Elizabeth Magee and I went to see a friend and then went walking. A few hours later at bedtime I couldn't find Lambie anywhere. Not in the car, yard, under the bed ---- lost! This wouldn't be so awful if i had ordered a back up but i haven't yet! I ordered the back up for what i thought would be the lovey she loves.

Bedtime went better than I expected....But I felt like a terrible mom for losing my babies' favorite stuffed animal....Especially after Elizabeth Magee picked up every stuffed animal in her crib looked at it and then threw them down.

Oliver was a saint and drove my walking route at 9 pm and FOUND Lambie!!!!! Some kind soul had found him and put on top of their mailbox!!!! Daddy to the rescue!!!

Here are some favorite Lambie pictures:

Lambie went to surgery with her......

Learned to crawl dragging Lambie in her mouth......

Ma'am-ed by a High Schooler

It happened yesterday. I have officially become a "ma'am." Yesterday on our walk, a cute little bulldog ran out to the street and was following us. His 16 year old owner chased after us and when I complimented his dog he said, "Thank you, ma'am." Oliver immediately stated the obvious that I had just gotten "ma'am-ed by a high schooler."

Normally this wouldn't have bothered me much except that Saturday night as we were getting ready to go out with friends, Oliver rejected by first two outfits as too young.....then when I was nicely dressed in my cardigan, pumps, and pearls he remarked I looked like a mom. SO this morning I decided i needed something new and younger to wear.....well I got these booties and my feet are already killing me....

I showed them to Elizabeth Magee at lunch and she approved......if Kate Middleton wears booties surely I can too????

Milestone

This morning Elizabeth Magee was playing in my bathroom. I looked up and she was standing against the tub. That is the first time I've seen her pull up! I can't help but wonder if she will be standing by her first birthday or even walking. I feel like she is really changing every single day right now.

So proud of Siggi

This picture was taken by my mom this afternoon....my mom recently acquired the grandmother name "Siggi." My mom didn't learn to text until about a year ago. But in the last 11 months, Siggi has gotten a camera phone and learned to take pictures with it and email them to me. I am SO IMPRESSED and if you know Siggi you are too!

I'm also very grateful that she spends her Wednesdays with Elizabeth Magee....my dad refers to Wednesdays as "EMday".......I love to come home to a smiling, bathed baby, no laundry and dinner!

Also, look at the cute cell phone Elizabeth Magee is playing with...EMday usually comes with at least one new toy and outfit.....Oliver saw the cell phone last week and said, "A year ago your mother would have thought a child's cell phone was the most ridiculous thing in the world." hehehe! The old saying, "a baby changes everything" is true --- just ask my mom!

Oxford Comma

My former paralegal and I had major wars about the Oxford Comma. I'd put it in, she'd take it out, and I'd put it back in......that was just about every letter for several months.

I'm not even going to pretend to know how to spell or that I know all of the grammar rules -- because between my husband and his brother I'd get laughed out of the family BUT this comma rule BUGS me if not followed :) How do you feel about the Oxford comma?

Branching Out

I've been told by no one in particular that my blog has become "one dimensional" and that "I have more going on than I put on my blog." It's not like I can blog about my job....although y'all would laugh...it's all confidential information :) But I'll try to branch out a little more....and leave you with just the one little picture of Elizabeth Magee!

We had a relaxing Friday night grilling hamburgers with friends (this is where it first came to my attention that this blog is now "one dimensional"), Oliver worked on Saturday and I made Cake Bark....I first saw that my cousin, Margaret, had pinned it and it lead me here. After reading the comments, I changed it up a bit.

Here's what you need:
6 oz. dark chocolate
12 oz. white chocolate
cake mix (I used white cake but I think yellow would be good tto)
Sprinkles
Wax Paper

1. Melt 6 oz. dark chocolate and spread thin on wax paper (if you are out of wax paper...foil with PAM works well).......freeze for 20 minutes
2. Melt 12 oz. white chocolate and mix in 3 tablespoons of cake mix....spread over chocolate and sprinkle with your favorite sprinkles....

3. Freeze for at least 30 minutes.....then break up....I made my first batch to thick and it was really hard (or impossible) to break...the second batch turned out much better...but no pictures of that batch!

In other news, do any of you Mississippi people have information about this property? It's a 27,000 square foot villa in Flora....it's featured on Cote de Texas and I'm dying to know whose house it is!

Are your legs this warm???

Tomorrow my baby turns 11 months! It makes me want to cry. Last weekend I "practiced" her birthday cake....Oliver started singing and I cried. Can't help it....it's exciting to see her change all the time but it's very real that I'm not in control of her growing up! This is probably the reason for taking 100 photos over the last 24 hours......so I thought I'd share my favorites!

A few weeks ago I saw these baby knitted leg warmers on pinterest. As soon as I saw them I knew that Elizabeth Magee had.to.have.some.right.away. SO...pulled the website, printed the directions, and gave them to ever handy Net....who got even more excited than me and quickly went to work...although she completely disregarded my instructions for gray wool (saying, "I couldn't do gray...they are a pinkish gray")....they are absolutely perfect and so we had to have a photo shoot yesterday afternoon.......

Then today, I saw this blog, The Glow, about all these beautiful working moms and babies and their beautiful houses.....so it inspired me to come home and take pictures of my beautiful baby...she's so fun these days....look at that expression:

Eleven Months ------the best 11 months of my life :)

Our Week

Our week has been good. Very good. God is so good! We have static hair -- every night!

We missed church for almost two solid months before Elizabeth Magee's surgery because we didn't want her to go to the nursery and get sick....it's nice to be back! Elizabeth Magee was "moved up" during her absence to the crawler nursery room (tear up here).....she's growing so fast!
Elizabeth Magee's favorite toy of the week is her ball. Loves this ball....even after all those great Christmas toys, the free ball from Aunt Sis's office is her favorite. Go figure!

Elizabeth Magee is starting to stretch up to stand on her knees....drawer 2.
Drawer 3.
Still lovin' the bath -- and dropping toys out of it :)

Post-Holiday

Isn't this cute? Haven't figured out how to upload pictures directly from the IPad to this blog....if I could they wouldn't be small. Hope the Post-Holiday Season has found everyone well. In my line of work, the Post-Holiday Season is very busy -- people make it through the holidays and then want OUT of their MARRIAGE....

But everyone needs a break (especially at work) so a friend of mine turned me on to this blog: http://surisburnbook.tumblr.com/

It is super funny and will give you a smile. Enjoy!

Goodbye 2011, Hello 2012

January -- my AMAZING friends threw me one hell of a baby shower.....seriously, I've never felt so loved......I'm still raving about it one year later :)

February -- our lives changed and our family expanded on Feb. 2oth -- this little one had her birthday. This picture was taken a few days later -- on her great-grandparents 55th wedding anniversary! I hope and pray that this little one finds the one made just for her and has 55 blessed years with him!

March --- we left Elizabeth Magee for our first night out at the Dixon Gallery.

April - the Easter Bunny found our house and we celebrated Easter as a family of 3 -- our first major holiday! We also took Elizabeth Magee to Oxford and Doubledecker.

May - these two made my first Mothers' day extra special......

June --- June 10th -- this little man and EM's best friend joined us in this world.....they are exactly 4 months and 10 days apart.....he is quickly catching up to her and I believe will be crawling in a month :)

July -- We went to the Fair for a few days. My all time favorite place in Mississippi and possibly the world. If you've never been to the Nesohba County Fair, I would make it a New Years Resolution.

August -- EM turned 6 months and became more fun to play with.....again posting a picture of an unmade bed.....this was obviously a Sunday --- sheet washing day!

September - football, football, football.......Elizabeth Magee loved the Grove....especially the Georgia game which only comes around every 6 years or so! I imagine the next time Ole Miss plays Georgia in the Grove these two will be in cheerleading and football uniforms!

October -- we got to reconnect with many great college friends and celebrate the marriage of Jacob and Kristin -- who will be celebrating a honeymoon baby in July of 2012!!!

November -- Elizabeth Magee turned 9 months old, we completed football season, had Thanksgiving with my parents, and got to see Marte --- who we already miss!

December -- most major event was that Elizabeth Magee had her bump removed on the 16th! We celebrated Christmas Eve with a new tradition -- both sides of our families at our house for Christmas Eve Dinner -- we look forward to it again in 2012!!!

A Little Redo

When we bought our house, this room was the "4th bedroom/office." Completely misleading. Could never be a bedroom -- it's off the dining room! The paneling was awful...the bookcase didn't open....for the first year we lived here...we just closed the door and pretended like the room didn't exist.

This picture is also from when the house was for sale. It is standing in the living room, looking into the dining room. The white door in the back leads to the sideroom.

The first thing we did was put in french doors between the dining room and the sideroom. We did this over a year ago but haven't really used the room. After Elizabeth Magee started "playing" ...we slowly began moving all her things into the sideroom. She is happier not being told "no" every turn and I'm happier not having toys all over my house!

No toys in this picture....this is only because EM is already in bed and I've picked them all up! I know it's awful but I needed a tv in the playroom -- more for me than Elizabeth Magee...she has no interest in TV....doesn't pay attention if it's on or off.....which I hope will stick but for some reason I doubt it. Oliver talked me into putting the little one from our room in the playroom and getting a big one for our room.

Toy view. I wanted an ABC mat...makes the seagrass rug a lot softer and spit up easy to clean up.....my pumps have already punched a whole in one square AND I've also come home to find certain four letter words spelled out in the letters....someone has had to much time off work :)

Elizabeth Magee is getting hard (or impossible) to contain. So....we have found intivative ways to keep her in one place....her shopping cart is currently the most popular.

She is getting so big....and despite this picture has NO desire to hold her own bottle.... she eats stage 2 baby food veggies all day long....peas are her favorites....however she has NO interest in eating lumpy foods or even picking them up.....seriously, i can't find anything besides bananas, blueberry muffins, and cheese that she will pick up herself --which if I could only eat three foods...I might settle for those three :)
