"At it's best summer should be crammed full of simple pleasures and delightful surprises......."

Edi, Olivia and Beckett spent three days, two nights in Memphis this week. It was the most time I have ever spent with them and it was wonderful. They are just precious and I love that I am their ONLY aunt!

And speaking of delightful surprises...Lisa and James are having a girl! They had a little announcement party last night. We all wore pink or blue -- depending on whether you thought it was a girl or boy!

1,095 Days

So yesterday, June 16, was our three year anniversary! 1,095 days as Mrs. James Oliver Williams, III. Oliver told me first thing in the morning that it had been a REALLY LONG year. Wonderful. But I know what he means. It has been a long year. The first two years we were married not much changed - he worked, I went to school, we lived in the same place, etc. But not this year. This year was busy busy:

1) I took the TN and MS bar exams
2) I started working full time
3) We bought a house. And moved all our stuff approximately 1/2 a mile.
4) Oliver's brother moved to Memphis and his sister and her family moved to Greenwood
5) We discovered that Oliver is very very handy - he built a fence, changed light fixtures, painted almost every room in the house, built, painted, and hung shudders, and now he is almost finished with the deck!
6) My brother, Thomas, got engaged to a wonderful girl, Laura
7) We changed Sunday school classes
8) Our second niece, Beckett was born
9) I changed jobs
10) We took our first real vacation since our honeymoon

All in all it's been a great year! Want to guess how day 1,096 started? With a broken air conditoner. Yep. We woke up this morning to a VERY hot house and the repairman won't be here till tomorrow afternoon....

Banquet Party

So it is REALLY hard to find something that seems blog worthy after our California trip. But we have been up to a lot. I started a new job - which I actually look forward to in the mornings and love a lot already. Oliver is working on his deck - which I will post pictures of soon. This week we had the Cotton Carival which for us really only involved a party on Friday night.....and let's just say it's probably a good thing we won't have another Osiris for a year but I do love to say "Hip Hip Hooray".....it really doesn't get old!

The girls at the beginning of the party - minus Helene....who we missed!

Once the band started everything started getting a little crazy...but with a lead singer like this (actually we don't think her mike was on and NOTHING moved when she danced)

So sorry Patrick...sorry Oliver...but mostly sorry Lisa. Lisa gets the award for the best prego-party girl of the year. She has been such a champ....she stays ALL night....takes pictures of us as we act stupid...and then drives us all home. She may be regretting the new Tahoe......as it has turned into more of a Rebel Ride than a mommy car!
