A Birthday Party & Watermelon

We celebrated this sweet little friend's birthday on Saturday.  When we moved here, she was 6 weeks old!!  Her mama and I knew each other in college and I grew up with her daddy.  Very sweet and small world we live it -- our children are the same age...Ticer is one of EM's best friends and Elizabeth is about the only friend the twins have!

This child....she is the tester of the three but gives the biggest hugs.

Poppy is so sweet.  She felt bad for a few days last week but made is all better.  This child loves loves watermelon.

The twins new favorite game....give each other high fives and kisses through the door....it's a very smudgy door!

Blueberries and a Big Mess

Mary Thorne has recovered from the beach and is back at being our into-everything-mess.  I gave them chocolate pudding last week.  I had NO idea it would turn into such a mess.  But they had a blast!

On Friday, we went to Jemison, AL to pick blueberries.  It was so so fun.  The twins ate more than their weight in blueberries straight from the bush!

EM and Ticer picked a ton of blueberries.  I can't believe how big they are.  I think (knock on wood) we have finally dropped the pull-up at night!!!

EM told me yesterday, "Julia, you have to listen to your husband."  And she is always telling Oliver to "talk slower daddy."  She obsessed with whose the tallest in our family and whose the shortest.  Whenever Oliver hears her talk about these things he adds that "mama is the oldest."

We are Growing.....

We are growing some major personalities around here.   The twins are really really trying to communicate...both saying "night, night" and "me, me."  Poppy seems to say whole sentences sometimes.  As far as sisters go, they love to all be doing the same thing....the most recently is reading books on their stools.  Mary Thorne has even developed a "cheese" face.

And the sunglasses.  Only a small accessory but some days I think Poppy wears them more hours than not.  She has a constant rotation of about 9 pairs.....whenever EM or MT finds a pair they take them straight to Poppy.

EM is still insisting on wearing the twins pjs.  Pick my battles.  She's been taking yoga this summer and on Friday they learned the tree pose.  She's pretty good.  Poppy, who isn't in the class, has also mastered it....I wasn't able to get a very good picture but:

4th of July and Twins First Beach Trip

We spent last week in Destin.   The twins were not sure what to think of the beach.  Poppy liked it a little bit.  Mary Thorne hated it.  We took her to the beach the first and last day.  So most of our "family" pictures looked like these next two:

We did drag Mary Thorne back to the beach on our last day for pictures.  She wasn't very happy so the best pictures are the ones were they can't see our faces :)

One of the highlights was getting to see my dear friend from college, Katie and meeting her sweet son Knox.  I can't believe we are so grown up!  Katie said to Oliver, "I can't believe you have more children than me."  I wish we lived closer!

Mary Thorne's one last try at loving the beach.  She didn't and everyone around us knew it. The morning ended with a sweet stranger from Nashville carrying her back to the pool so I could carry Poppy and Elizabeth Magee.  She really has no idea how much I want her to love the beach.....she is my child who loves everything and isn't scared of anything....and then she hated the sand.  Oh well, hopefully she'll like it better when we go back in September.
