Hugging Super Man

I've said since the first month we lived in Mountain Brook that the public library is the BEST!  They have age specific story time each week and in the summer they have Tuesday morning programming... a play, a magician, and last week....a Super Hero Meet and Greet.  This was HUGE for a lot of our friends that are boys.  For us.......we loved the ice cream and decorating a cape but it was a lesson in the names of different heroes....since my girly girls are not really into that.  BUT EM does know who Spider Man is because a little boy in her class is OBSESSED with Spider Man.  Elizabeth Magee has always been so timid around characters....so much so that we don't want to go to Disney till she gets over her fear....well after I took this picture I told Oliver to book Disney!

Over the weekend, we took a little weekend road trip to Greenwood.  Biscuit and Mark had WATER BALLONS and they were a big hit!
We went with Mr. James to a party outside the Cotton Row -- such an old Greenwood establishment and I kinda love that there are places that still don't allow women.......

Garner came to town and we had a great dinner at Luscos with Beth, Steve, and Mr. James.  We had drinks at the Alluvian after....

The background for this picture is that Ms. Dot found Garner's IQ score from the 9th grade.  It was something fabulous.  She couldn't find Oliver's but promised to look after the children went to bed.  After dinner and a few drinks, Oliver gets a text from her that his score was actually something slightly higher.  You can only imagine the comments that followed that text!  I'm surprised Garner is still talking to him! It's hard to be married to a genius, y'all!
Mark made the most fabulous Blueberry Cake for breakfast on Sunday.  If you have blueberries sitting around --- this is worth the calories :)

Summer Days!

I co-chaired VBS at our church this year.  It was a lot of work but worth it.  These sweet children learning about Jesus is such a sweet thing.  I didn't think I'd get to teach but one of Elizabeth Magee's teachers ended up being out sick most of the week, so I filled in!  I loved getting to spend so much time with her and her little church friends.

Siggi came for a quick one night visit and we got in some pool time!  My little fish are funny and show their different persons in the pool.  For example, Elizabeth Magee can swim but for some reason won't let go of the rail.  She will hold on to the rail and stay under water for a full minute.   Mary Thorne will jump off the side for any hour and go under as much as you want --- but hates her puddle jumper.  Poppy is so happy in her puddle jumper and just swims around the pool by herself.

For several weeks Poppy has told every teacher, babysitter, friend, family member, "My mama take me to the doc."  I think it's because I literally have only taken her by herself one place -- to the doctor -- and only once.  So Saturday, I decided to take just Poppy to run some errands.  We stopped for gummy bears first.  Now Poppy is saying, "My mama take me candy."
We set this up this weekend.  Lots of fun!  I don't have a picture of Mary Thorne but she loved it by far the best!
When Elizabeth Magee saw this picture of me and my dad she said, "why isn't Franks hair white?  The hair is wrong."

Yesterday, I put MT up on the counter to see the fish.  She sat like this for 5 minutes put her face almost into the water and kept saying, "I see you."  It was hysterical.

June is Flying

How is tomorrow June 15??? Tuesday is our 8 year anniversary! The seven year itch went by so fast that I didn't have time to scratch!

Anyway, this summer has started out crazy fast. Last weekend I took the girls on a four day, four state marathon. We went to Senatobia on Thursday, Memphis and Petit Jean, Ark on Friday, back toMemphis  late Saturday, and then home Sunday afternoon. While that sounds exhausting (and it was) it was so much fun!  The girls are all turning into good, not great, travelers. Movies and snacks go along way!
Some of my earliest memories are playing on these rocks. I hope EM made some lasting memories. She sang for the whole group on Friday night. She is NOT going to have stage fright! Unfortunately, Siggi got sick and Dad pulled his back out. But luckily their was LOTS of extended family to step in and love on us!
The highlight is always a four mile hike to the waterfall. I didn't think my 3 could make it so Uncle Rob took us on a tot sized hike.  It was so special for the girls. They are still building "bear caves."
Poppy announced right before the picture that "Poppy done." And she turned around and started walking back. This sweet child. She is talking in complete sentences and refers to herself in the third person. When I go get her up in the morning she says "poppy awake. Poppy up."  She says "poppy sweet" "poppy bad" "poppy eat", etc.  It melts me every time. I seriously don't want her to stop!
We spent Saturday night with the Bowies and it makes me so happy how sweet our kiddos are together! MT and Dorthory  snuggled for hours Before we decided to separate them so they'd actually sleep! They did so good at 2nd Pres on Sunday morning. It was a sweet experience to take them there and hear Sandy preach! I was a little worried about how the twins would do in the nursery. Emily's sister went to check on them between church and Sunday School, she said they were fine but the teachers were very confused because I had said they were twins but MT kept saying "i three, Poppy two". Hahahaha!!! This is probably the funniest thing about MT right now. She's very convinced that she is 3. Not 2. Poppy is 2.
Friday night we had a little Parents Night Out for the Garth Brooks concert. I always say I'm not a concert person but then I go and sing every word and have a blast.   So maybe I am.
We also had the most fabulous house guests this weekend. The Greenwood Williams came to see us and celebrate Reese graduating.  We had a fun time showing them our town (or at least the pool, playground, and candy store)!
