Halloween
I've wanted my baby's first Halloween costume to be a pumkin since my little cousin was born when in October of 1989....my aunt had him in the cutest little pumpkin costume...I was in kindergarten and still remember how cute he looked! I started looking for a pumkin costume as soon as I found out I was pregnant and found the perfect one a few weeks ago (for $14 dollars too)!

Momma
Our little girl has been saying her first words this week. She's said it several times. I've been scared to jinx it with a post but last night she said it three times - Momma. Sometimes she's looking at me when she says it and sometimes shes just talking to herself. So it may not be officially talking -- but we are so close!
I'm looking forward to a lazy weekend of cuddling and book reading with this little one!

Say My Name
Oliver was trying to get Elizabeth Magee to look at him this morning and this was the conversation:
Oliver: Elizabeth, look at me.
[No response]
Oliver: Elizabeth, look here.
[No response]
Julia: Oliver, call her Elizabeth Magee.
Oliver: Elizabeth Magee, look at me.
Elizabeth Magee looked at her daddy and gave him a big ole smile!
Oliver: I knew better than to fall for that trick.

My Child
I love laundry. Probably because I feel in control when all our clothes are clean -- everything else can be a diaster -- but if all the clothes are clean --- we are ok. I think this fascination started in the Tri Delt house when I could start three loads at one time (b/c my fellow tri delts did NOT share my love for laundry). In law school, I started doing laundry almost every day (I couldn't concentrate without the washer or dryer going). With Elizabeth Magee in our lives and two babies at the house several days a week, I do laundry every day. Anyway, EM has started to pick up on my love and LOVES to watch the washing machine......isn't she cute? She's actually babbling to the washing machine.....
The high efficency machines have saved Oliver much heart break over the water bill! Four years of marriage and these machines are most used (and favorite) wedding gifts --thanks Aunt Kim and Uncle Wayne!!!
P.S. I know Oliver will comment that his navy work socks are never clean.....I never seem to remember to check his hamper :)

Wedding Weekend
Oliver was in one of his best friend's weddings this weekend. It was a very special weekend for us! Sadly, I got no pictures of the happy bride and groom because when I pulled my camera out at the reception - I got this face from my groom:
We did get to spend some good time with some good friends. The girl on the right is Liv, my college roommate for 4 years.....she is fixing to run a marathon (all 26 miles) in two weeks. The girl on the left is Mary Kate, a good friend who has a four month old.....she's running a different kind of marathon every day!
Liv getting to meet Elizabeth Magee was my absolute favorite part of the weekend! She know lives in D.C. which is super cool but not easily accessible!
I did get one picture of Oliver and his college BFF - Reid - who know lives in El Paso and who we haven't seen in over a year!
Elizabeth Magee got to spend the weekend with her Aunt Sis and had an amazing time! I have not pictures but my Sis blogged about it here.

My Child
Does a baby know right from wrong? At 7 1/2 months does Elizabeth Magee have thought processes? I'm not sure....I tend to think not but look at this progression of pictures from yesterday:
1) First: Thomas and Elizabeth Magee enjoying a pretty day on the deck. Each has one toy (you can't see Thomas's in this picture and Thomas also has a pacifier).
2) Approximately three minutes later: I've given Thomas his paci, and Elizabeth Magee is sitting on her toy, and playing with Thomas's monkey.
3) Approximately three minutes after that: Elizabeth Magee is finished with the monkey and now going for Thoma's pacifier. Which she managed to get, chew on the wrong end, and then I stepped in.....
Did she know she was doing wrong?
On another note, I made a blueberry pound cake this weekend. It was AMAZING. This receipe was passed around our old sunday school class a few years ago and I've been wanting to make it since my mom brought me fresh Tate County Blueberries in July.
