Kindergarten

We just finished the second week of school!!!!  The first day of Kindergarten was filled with all sorts of anxiety (mainly mine)!  But Elizabeth Magee did great!  She met her teacher the day before and say her classroom and locker.

Oliver met us at the school to walk her in the first day.  He didn't understand why I was crying???!

Elizabeth Magee was SO nervous but there were NO tears....see Lambie sticking out of her locker??  Thankfully she saw her best friend from 4K, Marnie, right before she walked in her classroom.  A quick hug and they both felt better!!!

Mrs. Mooney is Elizabeth Magee's 5K teacher.  This is her 28th year at Crestline and she means business.  But she's kind and has a real heart for these children!

All the mamas were waiting outside right at 2 (they got out at 2 for the first week)....I think we all had a harder day than they did!

Walking home we heard Elizabeth Magee tell Elliott that she was so tired and asked her, "Don't you just want to go to bed for months?"

Two weeks in we seem to be developing into the "real" school routine!  She is SO tired when she gets home in the afternoon.  But we've adjusted to getting up at 6:15 and being out the door by 7:30.....

The Fair

There is only two days left of summer!  Before we start kindergarden I wanted to catch up the blog from the summer.

The last week of July we went to the Neshoba County Fair.  As always it was the highlight of the summer.  I took the girls by myself and was a little worried how that would go -- but they did great!  No matter what your age, the Neshoba County Fair is SO FUN!

We loved getting to spend time with Audrey!

We have reached the point where the mid-way is the highlight of the day.   The girls spent all day every day asking when we could go ride.....next year I'm going to have to rob a bank to go!

Is there anything better than spending your day on a cabin swing?????  This is Oliver's favorite part of the Fair!

Sweet Poppy's favorite ride was the Ferris Wheel.

It rained one day so Wade got a bunch of duct tape and cardboard and paper plates and made boats to race in Dookey Creek.

Elizabeth Magee FELL into Dookey Creek right before we left to come home.  I didn't get a picture but in the picture below you can see a little bit of the rope swing.  I told her NOT to let go......and she did.....and it was really gross but she wasn't hurt!

Beach - Edisto

We spent a week in Edisto with Mom, Dad, Net, Sis, Ryan, and the five kids!  It was such a great week of fun and the girls really got to know their cousins.

I hardly have any pictures of Mom or Elizabeth Magee.  They literally spent almost every waking minute in the ocean.  I think Elizabeth Magee figured out that if she got Siggi in the water, she'd have her to herself!

Poppy was sick a few days and got to spend a lot of time playing Jenga with Net.

Mary Thorne is going through this phase where she wants you to draw her pictures (she's the director, you're the artist) for HOURS......

Last year we saw sea turtles begin to hatch.  This year - we saw the whole thing.  Oliver and I were walking on the beach and saw a crowd start to gather.  When we went over the "Turtle Patrol" told us that the nest was about to hatch.  Oliver got Elizabeth Magee out of bed to come watch.  Sure enough about 30 minutes later, 113 sea turtles hatched and crawled into the sea.

Got to love a naked beach dance!!!!!
