One of Those Perfect Weekends

This Friday we went to Oxford for the first home football game.  It was our first trip to Oxford since the spring, and it was marvelous!  The weather was like fall.  It was overcast, and I don't think it got above 62.  I'm sure we will sweat at the next game, but I sure enjoyed the weather this weekend.  When we got to Oxford, we hit the square to get some car wiggles out.....Elizabeth Magee was quite impressed that she got to play at the church where Net and Granddaddy got married.

We ran into some friends on the square and listened to music for an hour or so.

Saturday we took the girls to breakfast at my favorite place, Bottletree.  It was the first time we've been out to eat, just the 5 of us, since the twins started walking.....and.....we did good!  The atmosphere in Bottletree, along with the huge cinnamon roll and lots of icing, probably helped.  Oliver and I have ordered the same thing since college - blueberry muffins and a cinnamon roll.  I let EM pick something out and she chose monkey bread -- it was delicious, and I think it will now become a new regular.  I love that she can decide things for herself now and that she has favorites. When I tuck her in at night she always puts in her breakfast request.  Last night it was "monkey bread with sprinkles."  She got oatmeal :)

And Audrey, Leon, Wade, and Leigh Allyn joined us!  Audrey wasn't sure about the playground at first, but once she got the hang of it she loved it!

Mary Thorne was a little more interested in Leon than Audrey....

Elizabeth Magee had her first soccer game on Sunday.  It's called "Sunday soccer" and you practice for 1/2 hour and then have a 1/2 hour game.  Her team is the U4 -- someone described it as herding crying cats.....and that was pretty accurate.

The dads were as entertaining to watch as the girls.

I was so proud of Elizabeth Magee and absolutely cannot wait for the next game!

Our Week and a Couple of Firsts

I don't feel like Elizabeth Magee has many "firsts" anymore....but Sunday night at the IPC Picnic she had her face painted for the first time!  She was so proud and I'm so proud of how big she is--it's been a little bit of a transition from our lazy laid back summer with NO plans to school 3 morning a week, ballet, bible study, tennis, etc.  BUT I think we are getting the hang of our new schedule.

We've started to play dress up a lot.  This is a 24M cow costume that still fits EM -- she combined it with the cowgirl costume -- so cute --- does she know how much she melts my heart????

Elizabeth Magee isn't really into the "princess" look -- but Mary Thorne and Poppy can't get enough.  This is the favorite dress that they take turns wearing many times a day!

Sweet Poppy has taken on ANOTHER lovey.  That BIG BEAR -- was mine growing up....it takes up half the crib....I know it's getting crowded with two babies, big bear, numerous loveys, and books....Mary Thorne has to go to bed with books.

The twins helped me make cookies for the first time this week......one of my favorite activities....they basically just ate apple sauce the whole time but it was fun!

ATL and Labor Day

 On Wednesday, our neighbor Weezie had her birthday party.  It was a princess party and Maddie and Elizabeth Magee had so much fun walking over together.  One thing I loved about our house when we moved in was that there were three other little girls EM's age within a stone's throw from our house.  They all go to different MMOs now but will all be in Crestline Elementary together!

After the party, I stuck (i.e., ran) out the door to meet Sis in Atlanta.  Her favorite famous person is Jay Leno and he was doing a show in ATL.  Ryan gave her the tickets for her birthday but he wasn't able to go --- luckily Mom and Net came here so I could go :)

Thursday morning, Oliver came over for the Ole Miss game.  We met my cousin, Margaret and her family for lunch, then hit up IKEA.  Margaret recommended we eat at JCT Kitchen and it was fabulous!  We took uber there and back to our hotel --- as first time uber users we were very impressed.  Oliver got box tickets for the Ole Miss game and let's just say I could get used to that ---- I didn't watch to much of the game but apparently we didn't look that good!

  I am SO thankful to mom and Net for coming to keep the girls.  I needed two nights off and in a hotel --- Net spent Friday night with us while Mom went to Tuscaloosa.  On Saturday morning, EM asked me if Net was still asleep.  I said yes but that she could go wake her up.  She walked right into the guest room, flicked on the light and said, "Net!!!!  Time to get up!!!"  I heard Net say something about being old, and EM said, "My daddy says my mama is old."  ha!
