Eastertide!

Last night the Easter Bunny came to see us --- it was definitely for me and not Elizabeth Magee but I sure had fun setting it all out!

In the last week, Elizabeth Magee has started focusing a little more and she is going to be a daddy's girl. If he is talking - she's looking for him....

We had a nice relaxing Easter. We woke up to the Easter Bunny treats....next year we are hiding eggs.....

We made it to church for the third time in 9 weeks......we kept Elizabeth Magee with us during church and she slept the whole time.

In our Easter dresses - you can't see the sweet monogram on her dress in this picture but it's there!

Oliver is always working on her saying "dada" first....

We headed down to Senatobia after church for a nice lunch at Net's. Thomas and Laura were missing but Sis and I had our egg hunt anyway....she found more eggs but I found the golden egg - $5!!!

My mom made the golden egg a pink egg in honor of Elizabeth Magee!

8 WEEKS

Elizabeth Magee is 8 weeks today! On Friday, she had her first round of shots - we both cried but I probably cried more than she did! She weighed in at 9 pounds and is 22 inches long. Tomorrow I return to work -- wish me luck!

An Easter Egg Hunt

Our neighbor hosted an Easter Egg Hunt yesterday afternoon for all the children on our street. The party was absolutely perfect! Everyone kept saying, "this should be in a magazine!" And it should have been. God gave us the perfect afternoon and it was so fun to see all the strollers, bikes, and baby slings making their way down Northwood. Jennifer's yard is amazing and all the spring flowers were in bloom. Elizabeth Magee didn't hunt any eggs (or even stay awake for the party) but we (or just me) loved being included! So fun to visit with my neighbors and get lots of good mommy advice!
Our pretty hostess had lots of treats and prizes for everyone!
Lots of eggs!
Thank you Jennifer for the perfect afternoon!

7 Weeks

My baby is seven weeks! Oh my how the time flies when you are having fun and not sleeping! I can't believe I go back to work next week! It breaks my heart to leave her everyday and I have cried much over going back but it's for the best! Plus we have had a true answer to prayer and found a nanny that is very very over qualifed to fill in for me during the day! Her name is Madeline and she is from Rwanda - she was a nurse and mid-wife in Rwanda and has raised 7 children. The youngest is interviewing at Harvard right now - so my baby will be in very capable hands! She came one day last week and again today. She is so good with her and I know that Elizabeth Magee will love her!
My parents and sis came up to babysit Saturday night so that we could go to the Osiris Red and White Cocktail party (my shoes were red)! Anyway, we didn't get a picture with Sis and the baby but maybe she has one to post on her blog!

She is beginning to smile some - not sure if it's just gas or in reaction to us but a smiles a smile and this little girl has a beautiful one!

One thing that has been super special is my dad has been able to come by almost every Monday for a few minutes on his way to a weekly lunch meeting!

The weather was great this past week and we got to go around in summer clothes. Isn't this tutu funny? A present from Aunt Sis.

Elizabeth Magee gained approximately 2.5 ounces a day from Friday to Sunday. Yesterday she weighed 8.8 pounds! Some of our premmie gowns are to small and all are to short!

6 Weeks!

I would love to say that 6 weeks brought us sleeping more, nursing faster, and getting more rest - but no! We have good nights and bad nights - the good nights she only wakes up once around 2 a.m. and is only up for about an hour. The bad nights we are now calling "parties" - and some nights she parties like it is 1999! The doctor gave us some baby zantac last week that is helping but you can tell her tummy hurts a lot! I actually just put her down on her stomach (much to Oliver's dismay) but I swear she feels better on it! Tonight she weighs 8.1 - it amazes me that some (most) babies are born 8 pounds - it seems like such a huge milestone for us! This is where EM sleeps the best - in our bed! It's her favorite time of the day - the early morning after her first feeding she gets to go to bed with her daddy for a few minutes!
My friend and kind-of-cousin, Megan, and her baby, Annie, came to visit us this week! We are so excited that they are moving back to Memphis in June and look forward to lots of playdates.
