My girls
What a blessing each day with these girls is. Some days I get so frustrated but am trying so hard to always remember that they are only this young once. Someone in my bible study put it this way, "remember it is her day too". I'd never thought about it that way but it changes the whole way you look at your day!
We are in full blown Elizabeth Magee mode right now. She has her first dance recital on Sunday. The practice this week was so fun! We also started swim lessons yesterday. She hasn't stopped screaming enough for me to take a picture yet!!!

Lately
We've had a rainy two weeks. Last week it rained almost everyday. On Friday I realized we were all dreading a weekend of rain -- but luckily we've had a few sun shiny days this week!
The girls are growing like weeds. Mary Thorne and Poppy are talking, talking, and talking! Poppy's newest thing is saying, "red car" "black car" for every car that passes us. We parked next to a bright blue car and she was so excited she started saying, "blue car" "my blue car" "blue car home." She has also started calling Elizabeth Magee "Gee Gee" and she always wants Gee Gee to sit beside her. Poppy is also calling Mary Thorne "Meme" which is cute because that is what Mary Thorne calls her lovey.....
Elizabeth Magee is learning so much at school. She can write about half of her name and wants to draw and color all day long. She is so sweet with her sisters. She always helps Poppy put on her shoes.
Mary Thorne is also talking a lot more. Last week she said her first four word sentence. We were on the phone with Siggi and I had let her babble for a few minutes to her and then I told her that I needed the phone. She looked at me and said clear as day, "I need to talk." She absolutely loves to talk to someone on the phone. She will say a few clear words and then just a lot of babble. She also LOVES to "go with Daddy." Last weekend, she was the ONLY one that got to go with Daddy to the grocery store in the rain. She beamed the whole way out the door and was waiving and blowing kisses and saying "bye bye Mama" "bye bye Poppy."
We took a picnic to the Botanical Gardens today with a picnic lunch. Mary Thorne insisted on wearing her ballet tutu outfit today and I just let her. I was so pleased that she and Poppy were playing quietly in the corner during EM's gymnastic lessons UNTIL Mary Thorne screams "MAMA....and runs over to me without a stitch of clothing......anyway.....she put it back on and we met some neighbors for a picnic lunch. As we were leaving, this lady came up to me and said she had been testing out a new camera, she was a photographer, and could she send me some pictures she took of the girls....I gave her my email and she emailed me these two of Mary Thorne:
I love them because they so capture HER right now.....just wondering....in her purple tutu without shoes...even though it was a little cold! If you need a photographer in B'ham check her out!

Greenville SC & Easter
Disclaimer -- all these pictures are from my phone -- I'm going to have to make myself download the ones off my "real" camera and edit this post later. BUT I really want to document last week while I still remember the details!
We left last Wednesday to visit Sis and Ryan in South Carolina. This was our first trip since they moved and we loved Greenville. The weather was horrible on Thursday so we didn't get out a whole lot but Friday was gorgeous and we loved being outside every second of the day.
Greenville was a great city to visit with children. There was a lot to do that kept them entertained and let us see the sites at the same time.
For example, there are several bronze mice (I think six) downtown. Sis had been telling EM about them and she spotted the first one without any clues....I snapped a picture of each one of the girls looking at the mice....it's kinda funny to see how they each reacted:
Falls Park was absolutely amazing. We took some bread and feed the ducks. We ate lunch at the French Bistro that overlooked the falls. The flowers were gorgeous and by late afternoon the park was full of blankets and picnics. It was like a very tiny Central Park.
By far the easiest way to travel with three littles and three adults....Poppy was absolutely in heaven riding around on my shoulders (her expression doesn't show it in this picture)!
We came home with three bags full of rocks.....of course Elizabeth Magee didn't want to leave any behind!
We made it home Saturday. FedEx lost our dresses and the seamstress in Mobile had to remake them and then delivered them to us Saturday night at 10 p.m. I was very impressed!
Since we've lived in Birmingham, we've celebrated Easter with the B'ham Williams. It's such a treat to have breakfast AND lunch cooked by someone else. In the last two years, I've run my dishwasher every single day we were home EXCEPT for Easter -- because Aunt Cindy does all the cooking!
By Easter morning, Mary Thorne GOT the point of hunting eggs. She is fast and fearless and isn't afraid to fall down. Poppy on the other hand was not into hunting eggs this year. The Easter Bunny brought her six bouncy balls (the tiny ones) and she put those in her basket and didn't want anything else in it! The Easter Bunny also brought us 3 fish...but my Tuesday night....we are down to two!
