Pre-Halloween Parties

Our kitchen is ALMOST finished.  After today the only thing left will be to hang the vent-a-hood.  I've been unpacking the boxes and they have provided hours of entertainment.  These two prefer to be put inside the box to color.  We went for our 18 month wellness visits yesterday - Poppy was 20.4 pounds and 32.5 inches (5% for weight and 50% for height).  We didn't make it home with Mary Thorne's stat sheet but I believe she was 21.8 pounds and 34 inches (9% for weight and 90% for height).

We've lived here two years this month and I'm still shocked at how much this town loves Halloween. A friend of ours threw a party at Overton Park on Monday.  It was almost 90 decrees so we left off all tights and undershirts!

Annie and Elizabeth Magee both wanted to be mouses....they were pretty funny looking.  EM's 2T costume was very short and Annie's 4T costume was very long......they were kinda perfect looking :)

Even our local retirement homes holds a party for the children.  Last night they had all the children over for dinner and trick or treating.  That is the best way to trick or treat.  Hallways filled with candy and people willing to let you have as much as you wanted.  At the beginning of the night, Poppy and Mary Thorne didn't want to hold their pumpkins.  By the end of they night, they completely wanted to hold them......I think they learned how to "trick or treat."

Elizabeth Magee decided to be the cow, Mary Thorne wanted to be Minnie Mouse, and Poppy was a Pig!  We can't wait for the real Halloween parade, parties, and trick or treating tonight!

Happy Faces

We are gearing up for Halloween and no place on earth loves Halloween like Crestline Village!  Friday night was the library's party with the complete Frozen cast (including an 8 foot Olaf), Frozen movie playing on the lawn, and the library turned into the yellow brick road.  Elizabeth Magee loved seeing Sleeping Beauty the best and did not want to get anywhere near the huge Olaf)!

The girls were the Three Little Kittens Who Lost Their Mittens...but it turned out they also lost their ears and tails.  And the facepaint rubs off REALLY easy,.....so not sure what we are going to do the actual Halloween (or as EM says, "The Trick or Treat Halloween."

Saturday morning we packed up to spend the day in the Grove.  At this point in football season it starts to get a little tiring going to all the games....but a 7-0 streak is very much worth it!  The girls are complete troopers and we love spending the day together outside......

 Poppy's "cheese" face is probably about the cutest thing I've ever seen.  I mean ---how cute is she????

Elizabeth Magee doesn't stop smiling when Siggi is around....and my sweet cousin Eone sent me this picture she found at her mother's house....I'm guessing this is around 1986.....and obviously on Uncle Buford's front porch...at the time we lived in the red brick house in the background!

Mary Thorne has been extra clingy getting over her ear infection and busted lip this week...but she's always smiling until I threaten to put her down.  I swear....I've held this child so much this week by back is KILLING me.....it hasn't hurt like this since I was pregnant with the twins!

Look how much the twins have changed in a year --- almost as much as the Ole Miss football team :) AND Poppy is wearing the same dress!

Football and Birthdays

Oliver had a pretty fabulous birthday weekend.   And not because of anything we did for him....but Ole Miss beating Alabama was better than any present we could have given him!

We are in the middle of a kitchen renovation -- Oliver's birthday breakfast options were a little limited but the girls loved getting to sing to him.  For the last two weeks, our "kitchen" has consisted of the breakfast table in the den and crockpot/toaster oven in the living room -- but we are almost finished and it's going to be worth it!

We celebrated Oliver's birthday at our house for breakfast, with Siggi, Frank and Net at lunch in Senatobia, and then went to Pete & Sams in Memphis for dinner with Oliver's dad, brother, sister, and brother-in-law.  We hadn't been to Pete & Sams since we moved and it was just as good as I remembered.  I love that place - so many special memories over the years there -- it was the place I ate with my family the last night before our wedding weekend began and the place we told my parents we were pregnant with twins!  I can pick out both tables.....

These girls love to play "night night" every morning. Elizabeth Magee is so sweet to them.  Mary Thorne likes to play with Elizabeth Magee and Poppy is very content to have her own space but still be included.  When she's going to bed she'll say, "Will you sing me the story of the Three Little Bears (or some nights The Three Little Pigs)?"  I love that she mixes up "sing" with "tell"...... these little toddler mix ups are  disappearing and I'm trying to treasure each little one!

Poppy is going to be a knock out on the soccer field.  She loves to play with all things "ball." And she loves her "DADDY" -- she screams his name as soon as she sees him in the morning and as soon as he walks in the door.  She also likes to get his shoes and clothes out during the day and bring the to me and say, "Daddys."   Aunt B and Jean Jean kept the girls on Friday morning and said they had no problem communicating with the twins.  They get their point across -- usually rather loudly!

We had a little cousin sleepover last night.  The cousins were so excited to see each other.  And even more excited when they realized they all had matching pjs!  Last weekend, Poppy and Biscuit took them to see Frozen on Ice in Nashville.  Elizabeth Magee hasn't stopped talking about it (or peeing in the bucket in Poppy's van) all week!  Oh how I wish we all lived closer!

This picture is blurry but I love it.  I'm not sure how much the girls slept last night.  They all piled in the day bed/trundle in the playroom.  I heard them jumping at 11:30 p.m. and then at 5:45 a.m. they were jumping.....so I'm not sure how much sleep they had!

Lately - iPhone pictures

I think these are two of my favorite pictures of Poppy ever.  They completely capture her little personality.  She is my little independent one.  As long as she has her dog.....she's happy.  Dee and Poppy came by for a quick visit last week and took us all to dinner.  The music was a little loud but we had a great time and loved getting to see them!

We took all the girls to the Grove for the Memphis game.  Elizabeth Magee had a FIT to go to the Tri Delt house within 10 minutes of getting to the Grove.  After we went to the Tri Delt house, Garner asked me how I had trained a three year old to want to go to the Tri Delt House....why the ice cream machine of course :)

Elizabeth Magee has improved so much in her activities.  She hasn't cried or taken Lambie to soccer or ballet the past two weeks.  She loves to say, "I'm just teasing...."
