We have had a busy Thanksgiving - tearing up I-55 between Oxford, Senatobia, and Greenwood. We managed to consume three Thanksgiving dinners in 48 hours. Each Thanksgiving dinner made me more and more thankful for my wonderful family.

We started Wednesday night with Oliver and Garner frying the Thanksgiving turkey. A twenty pound turkey, gallons of peanut oil, and very hot oil will made me very Thankful for a Hubby that likes to cook and was willing to work all day and then come home prepare the thanksgiving day bird!

On Thursday morning we left for the first leg of our Thanksgiving eat-a-thon....the first stop was the Williams Thanksgiving Dinner in Taylor.

Oliver's dad is the oldest of 5 boys:

From these five boys came this huge Williams

We were all together minus three of the grandkids and two of their spouses....My family never did the go-around-and-tell-what-you-are-thankful-for-this-year. But the Williams family does this every year and we have so much to be thankful for...during the "thanks for X" conversation my phone rang...it was my sister who left a very urgent voicemail that said something like "Sis don't worry but we've had a fire...everyone is ok but just call".... I called and got the entire scoop...which Sis has recorded on her blog: http://whitehouseredroof.blogspot.com/2010/11/part-2-stay-calm-and-gobble-on.html

Everyone is ok and my mother will probably get a new kitchen out of the ordeal - but still it was very scary and made me thankful for these guys:

But somehow my mother managed to pull together a full Thanksgiving meal complete with Turkey after her kitchen was burnt to a toast! We enjoyed turkey and all the trimmings about 5 hours after the fireman left!

On Friday morning, Oliver and I had a relaxing morning during a little furntiure shopping....which will have to be another post because we found some great chairs...and then had lunch with his mama's family......which made me very thankful that I am eating for two and can completely justify consumming three huge meals in 24 hours!

Overall I think I am most Thankful for the 58 people that I got to eat those three dinners with...most of them I didn't even know 8 years ago and I could not be a luckier girl than to have such a wonderful family.....and my this time next year it will be at least 59 people!!!!

Calling Baton Rouge!

So I know all my blog readers are shocked...two posts in two days....but life is so fun and busy this time of year that I don't want to miss recording a thing!

This past weekend we celebrated my brother's upcoming wedding in Baton Rouge. An engagement party was hosted by some good friends of the Walsh family on Friday night. The party was fun, the food delicious, and the house amazing. Oliver spent most of the night staring at the wine cellar...sadly I did not get a picture of him in there....I forgot my camera so Sis had to give me her pictures from the weekend.

The Happy Couple and the Future Sister-in-Law:

Laura and her future monster-in-law (just kidding mother), me (22 weeks prego), Sis, and the mother of the bride:

Thomas and Laura are getting married in less than a month! They are so cute together and we are so happy to get a sister!

Probably the biggest highlight of the weekend was getting to see my great-aunt, Aunt Bubba. I hadn't seen her in over a year which absolutely breaks my heart! Aunt Bubba influenced my growing up years A LOT - Sis and I spent many spring breaks with her in Natchez where Sis and I did the Natchez pilgrimage and watched lots and lots of Murder She Wrote and spent afternoons receiving lessons in silver patterns, manners, antiques, and fine linens.....she is the reason I clean out every hairbrush I see.....whether it's mine or not! She hasn't been able to come to Memphis to see our house but on Saturday she asked Sis and I if we were "only buying antiques" because everything else would end up in a garage sale and you could always resale antiques if you needed the money!

Also, another great highlight was getting to spend sometime with our cousins, Tom, Paula, Anna Magee, and Robert.....of course I didn't get a single picture of them but I will make sure to take more when we go down to the wedding in a few weeks! They were very sweet to open their home to us and it really made the weekend....Tom let us park at his office for the LSU v. Ole Miss Game so we had a great parking spot and we hope we weren't too much trouble....

Baby Dorothy

Our sweet friends, James and Lisa, had another PRECIOUS baby girl last Thursday. She is so tiny and so cute! She arrived on Thursday right afer lunch and weighed in at 8 pounds, 4 ounces.

Going to the hospital Thursday night to visit was a little bit of a surreal experience. I had never been into the maternity ward of Germantown Methodist, which is where Dorothy was born and where I will deliver. It was nice and the walls were all painted happy baby colors but it was still a hospital and the thought of spending the night in the hospital scares me....as does the thought of needles, blood, and just whole the giving birth aspect of all this! I think I had successfully managed to not think about the actual birth until Thursday night.....and when I did I got SCARED!

Holding Dorothy though was very exciting...it is so fun to think that she and my baby girl will grow up together. They will be in the same class and I expect this will be only Christmas that they don't see each other!

My Baby Has a Twitter Account

Oliver got an iphone a couple of weeks ago. Since then he has been glued to it. Before the iphone, Oliver hardly ever checked facebook. Now he checks facebook 100 times a day and has a Twitter account. I don't really know anything about twitter but apparently one of Oliver and Garner's friends has created a Baby Williams Twitter Account. So far, there have been two "tweets":

1st Tweet:

"Man, it is warm up in this womb today. I really hope we have a banana milkshake tonight"
@jowilliams03 #makeithappenpops

2nd Tweet:

"Just heard the rents talking about going to some place called new orleans-Dad seemed really pumped by mom can't drink"
#icanhandleitifshecan

How funny!

20 Weeks!

Well this little baby is now twenty weeks old....twenty weeks and three days by the doctor's calander to be exact. She is weighing in at 12 ounces and is 11 inches long. She is moving around a lot...Oliver was able to fill her kick for the first time the other night. I think he about fell out.
Now that we know we are having a girl we can get to the really fun stuff - names, clothes, and nursery.
I originally said I wanted to do a very gender neutral nursery.....we are going to (Lord willing) have more than one child in this house and I only want to do one nursery. This is still my plan but I have only found the bedding....
Here is our bedding.....I must admit it was a COMPLETE impulse buy.....I went to this little baby boutique after Court this morning for inspiration....I had NO intention of buying anything -- but then ---
I found out everything was 50% off and they were closing on Saturday.....so I started really looking at all the bedding.......and fell in LOVE LOVE LOVE with this:
It's all from Pom Pom at Home.....it's all organic (which I think just means overpriced) linen....but I don't think I could buy linen and have someone make it for the amount I paid!
The Duvet:
The bedskirt and bumper (but I got the all white bumper)....and it is 100% washable!

The bunny accent pillow.....I am tempted to go back and get another one of these tomorrow....

Don't you love it?
I have found some material for the curtains.....just got to talk Oliver's grandmother into sewing them....
I still have to find: paint, a glider, and a small dresser (I think I want one with the changing table on top of it)!
