Mississippi Visit

The girls and I spent the week celebrating!  Mary Thorne and Poppy left their party in Oxford and went home with Biscuit.  On Sunday, Elizabeth Magee and I joined them in Greenwood.  Poppy had cupcakes and candles and we sang and sang -- I think we even sang to Elizabeth Magee!

We sang again with the Williams cousins!

Big tractor.  Little girl.  How tiny does Mary Thorne look next to that big tractor???

Poppy was the only one brave enough to ride!

Elizabeth Magee told Pops all about something....who knows what....she had a great time "going to a restaurant" -- still talking about it!

Elizabeth Magee and I made a quick trip to Memphis to see some friends.  The twins stayed with Siggi and Frank.  All got spoiled for a night!  Especially me -- Elizabeth Magee played really hard with these two friends!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to my precious babies!  A year has flown by and I am more in love with these two everyday!  We've come along way from the NICU!  We spent the week celebrating them and since I took over 250 pictures in a week....I'm going to have several posts!

Mary Thorne LOVED her party.  At one, you have three teeth on the top and two teeth on the bottom.  You have barely quit smiling since you started walking.  Your favorite way to make everyone feel special is run to them when they come in the door for a hug.  You are CLIMBER.  You climb everything and you mostly don't cry when you fall.  It's amazing and very scary for me because you climb and fall multiple times a day.  You can say mama and daddy but your big sister is your heart.  You will let Elizabeth Magee do just about anything to you.  We already know you are going to be an animal lover.

Poppy you haven't stopped moving since you started crawling before you were 5 months!  You have four teeth on top and three on the bottom.  You can crawl into my lap quick as a flash -- much to your sisters dismay.  You can say mama, daddy, and no.  You first said "No" to Biscuit on your first birthday when she asked if you wanted a bath!  You typically finish your bottle and then Mary Thorne's.  You will snuggle any chance you get.

There are no words to describe how much I love my girls!

The "Thorne" picture!  Out of 21 people at the party 6 are named Thorne!  The party princess could not be waked....I guess that comes from spending the first 8 months of her life taking her morning nap in the Baby Bjorn while I walked :)

Check Mate

Last night I played Bunco and Oliver tucked the girls in.  While tucking Elizabeth Magee in he said, "Good night Elizabeth" and she asked, "Why do you call me Elizabeth? My name is Elizabeth Magee."  Oliver told her that to mama her name was Elizabeth Magee but to daddy it was Elizabeth.  Her response, "My friends call me Elizabeth Magee…I'm Elizabeth Magee."  Check mate.  I've waited THREE years for her to tell her daddy her name is Elizabeth Magee.  And in typical Oliver fashion….he is still saying Elizabeth.

Does anyone else love Eloise like we do?  We read it several times a week…..anyway, these pictures of Elizabeth Magee remind me of Eloise….notice the grocery bag over the chair….this child is obsessed with bags and putting things in bags…..

One Week to One

Our deck is by far my favorite part of our house.  Especially now that I can open the doors and let the girls go in and out and play.  They all three LOVE to be outside.  Last week, it was a little cold one day and only EM could play while I cooked dinner.  The twins were NOT happy!

One week to one.  Last Saturday, I called my mom on the way home from the grocery store and told her I just bought 4 gallons of milk.  Amazing. But then on Thursday, I had to go back for another and then for another on Saturday.  So from Sunday to Sunday - I bought 6 gallons of milk and started this week with half a gallon of skim and half a gallon of whole.  Life has changed when there is far more milk than wine in my grocery cart!

"Floppin" with daddy.  They absolutely love to do this….he hasn't dropped one --yet.

My sweet little Mary Thorne is such a climber.  See how her feet her up on Thomas?  She's fixing to stand up on him.  She is a MESS.  Last week, we found her half way down the deck stairs….since she can climb baby gates, Oliver made this one -- hopefully it will keep her safe!

Elizabeth Magee told Oliver she was going to draw a whale.  And then drew this picture.  We were both amazed.  Maybe it was a fluke?  Should we put her in an art class?  I think Aunt Karen will be proud of this drawing!

Life!

Life is so sweet right now.  The promise of spring is here and we are loving every minute!  I love every day -- and am exhausted every night.  Oliver took Elizabeth Magee for a little lunch date last Saturday to Gilchrist.  Since then, she's been playing restaurant where she orders chips and a cheese sandwich.

It was pretty enough to go to the zoo on Friday.   Four moms, eight kids, and most of Birmingham was there!  We had a great time!

Mary Thorne has really turned into an animal lover.  I think I'd probably be ready to find Ally another home except this is how I find Mary Thorne at least twice a day:

How cute is that face?  Who told her no?

Elizabeth Magee is so excited about birthdays.  Anyones birthday!  We "play" birthday a lot…..

We played on our deck almost all weekend.  This is Elizabeth Magee's new favorite past time -- "playing choo-choo"  The sisters won't quite participate yet….but luckily Lambie and Baby Reese will!

At a birthday party yesterday, the twins would NOT quit climbing up on the table.   So we just decided to go with it…..it kept them contained and they were quite happy helping the big kids color and eat cupcakes!

Mary Thorne

Mary Thorne has gone from my laid back infant, to the serious baby, to the goofy smiling baby that is happy 99% of the time.  She is so tough.  Elizabeth Magee slammed her fingers in the door today and she didn't cry -- or stop trying to open the door!

This is how I found the twins one morning last week.  I wonder how many more times I'll find one sleeping on top of the other.  Mary Thorne was pretty determined that Poppy wouldn't start her day without her!

Mary Thorne started walking last week.  Last Monday she took a few steps across the bathroom floor and then across the kitchen rug.  By Thursday she was confident and by Friday she was EVERYWHERE.  Three walking little girls in this house!  I love love love this stage.  Mary Thorne is so proud of herself.  Her favorite place is the St. Luke's playground.  By Friday afternoon, she was ready to try her new tricks out there:
