Our Christmas Tree

We decorated our tree last night.  We are scaling down the Christmas decorations this year...since we don't yet have the house finished I didn't want to put a lot out.  Elizabeth Magee was a little scared of the Christmas Tree at first but now she loves it.  Anytime she sees a Christmas Tree she says, "Daddy." I think because we went to Home Depot to pick one out with Oliver and she saw him pick it up.

Her newest trick:  when she doesn't want to do what you tell her she looks at you and says, "bye bye" -- yesterday in CVS I told her not to touch something, she looked at me, waived and said, "bye bye mama"....it's really hard not to laugh when she says it.

We Saw Santa

Saturday morning, Elizabeth Magee and I headed to the Market (Birmingham Junior League version of Merry Marketplace).  Santa and Mrs. Claus were there.  Needless to say, Elizabeth Magee is NOT a Santa fan yet.  She was kinda scared sitting on my lap and very very scared sitting on his lap alone.

Santa will be in the Grove for the Egg Bowl this Saturday so we are hoping to love him more by then!  I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.  We are staying home and having Oliver's mom, grandmother, and brother over to the new house!  I couldn't be more excited!

Thankful

Elizabeth Magee's class had a Thanksgiving feast this morning. Of course for Mother's Day Out, lunch is at 10:45. She was so proud of her placemat.

I am so thankful for this little girl and so grateful to be her mama. She is growing up so fast and not much of a baby anymore!

We built our first fire tonight. This is the first real fireplace we've had in the five years and three houses since we've been married!

This child loves loves loves to swing. She loves to push Lambie as much as she likes to swing. She dragged this into the living room this morning. She has different ideas about how to settle in.

Family Weekend

We enjoyed a Williams family wedding this past weekend at Old Waverly in Columbus.  Lots of good food, good time with cousins, and fun time with our little girl.  Elizabeth Magee only made the brunch and stayed at the condo during the wedding and reception.
A typical weeknight shot of Elizabeth Magee.  She "shops" in the pantry while I cook dinner.  Most of the time she won't take her "hat" off.  This girl is loving her winter coats....especially the hoods.

Halloween(s)

We've had lots of Halloween fun this year!  We spent our last weekend in Memphis seeing new babies, catching up with friends, going to Art on Fire, and going to tell the ducks at the Peabody bye....Olivia and Beckett joined us.  It is officially impossible to get a good picture of these three!

On Sunday, after we cleaned our new house and hung our tv....we headed to a Halloween Wagon Walk down the street.  A friend of mine hosted and had so many fun toys....Elizabeth Magee loves a bouncy house and she's not scared to jump in with the big boys!

Wednesday morning we went to our story time Halloween Party at the Mountain Brook Library...bubbles are a new word!
People told us Crestline was serious about Halloween....but until we went to the parade on Wednesday afternoon.....I didn't understand what they meant.....imagine hundreds of children all dressed up watching this:

My personal favorite float was Honey Boo Boo!  After the parade, the houses right off the village hold big yard parties with tents, bands, and fire pits and await the 1,000 trick or treaters!  Sarah Evans also sings at one of these parties (she lives a few streets over from us).....but we didn't see her....maybe next year!  Overall, it was my most active Halloween in all my 29 years!
