Weekend Away

I left Birmingham for the first time since the first week of February on Friday morning.  Needless to say, I was very excited to leave town.  Oliver took the day off to watch Elizabeth Magee and the twins and I hit the road to Mississippi.  Our first stop was to meet Miss Audrey Leigh White in Philadelphia.  She was just as precious as she could be!  Philadelphia has a special place in my heart....I could live there in a New York minute.  Leigh Allyn's father in law is running for Mayor:

On Saturday morning, we held a little photo shoot of Audrey and the twins.  I'll post those pictures once Leigh Allyn sends them to me!

The twins and I then headed to Jackson for Olivia's baby shower.  Baby Champion will be here in 7 weeks!  It was so fun to celebrate Olivia and her baby!

Thomas and Laura were sweet enough to keep the girls during the shower so that I could spend time with Olivia.

We spent Saturday night with Sis and Ryan.  I sure enjoyed having another set of hands to help me feed our little loves!

A Visit & Mother's Day

Last week, we had a short visit from Net and Aunt Sis.  They helped me get the twins to their hip ultra sound appointment -- keep Mary Thorne in your prayers....her right hip is still immature and we have to go see an Ortho specialist!

I had a great Mother's Day with my little ones.....we went to church, had a family portrait made (will post picture as soon as I get it), had a long walk, and enjoyed some sweet gifts from the girls.

Elizabeth Magee made me a pot with her hand print on it at MMO:

And Oliver and the girls surprised me with this oil painting on Sunday morning:

Rolling With It

Our new normal is somewhat more hectic but I wouldn't trade it for the world!  I love love love being home with my three babies.  When Elizabeth Magee was 6 weeks old, I was crying every day thinking about having to leave her in two short weeks -- I think knowing I don't have to leave the twins right away has made this newborn period much more enjoyable!!!

Seven weeks tomorrow!  They still prefer to sleep with Poppy cuddled up to Mary Thorne.  They still sleep through the other ones cries.  Night before last, they slept 6 hours.....heaven. We started Poppy's laser treatments this morning on her hemangioma.  Hopefully, only four more zaps and it'll be gone.

Elizabeth Magee and I did some painting on the deck this week....we made Mother's Day cards for our grandmothers but they didn't get in the mail until today...so sorry Siggi and Biscuit!

Elizabeth Magee can now scale this ladder at the Tot Lot.  I about had a heart attack when I watched her do it from the other side of playground yesterday....I hadn't seen her do it by herself!

Does anyone else find the 4 to 5 o'clock hour horrible with a toddler?  We are NOT a happy household for that hour.  Baking seems to help.....I think it may be the sugar consumed or the noise of the food processor/blender...but anyway, we made "ice cream" from frozen bananas...found here on Pinterest.

We added chocolate chips, cocoa powder, and peanut butter -- y'all this stuff is GOOD (and I don't like anything flavored banana) -- but this tasted much more like chocolate than banana!

Life Lately

We enjoyed a relatively quiet weekend. Saturday morning I wanted nothing more than to get out of the house for a few hours....so we loaded up all the girls and headed to the playground

And then the Farmers Market! Elizabeth Magee called the Popsicles from Steel City Pops "big suckers"....

Poppy gave us a sweet smile!!

A rare second when all 3 girls are asleep!

Elizabeth Magee and I made cookies for our new neighbors -- it's hard not to eat the cookie dough when we make cookies....

The girls had their 1 month check up on Monday. Mary Thorne weighed 7.8 and was 22 inches -- 5th percentile for weight. Poppy weighed 6.10 and was 20.5 inches -- 3rd percentile.

Daddy got us a double Bob -- best daddy ever!!
