Mr. & Mr.s

Mr. & Mrs.

The Campus Walk Group & Groupies

This weekend we celebrated the marriage of one of Oliver's best friends - Matt Kelly. Oliver and Matt grew up together at Pillow Academy. I met Matt once we all got to Ole Miss. Marty was also at Ole Miss with us but a year younger. They didn't start dating until after college so we didn't really know them as a couple in college. Anyway, the rehearsal dinner was fun with a lot of good memories retold. We got to see Reid and his parents. Michael Bowler came done from Knoxville and managed to be in the wedding and run a triathlon at the Nesohba County Fair. We also got to see David and Lindsay Finnegan for the first time in two years! It was so wonderful to catch up.....we are all really growing up!

Sunday was Oliver's Mom birthday - no numbers! But we celebrated with a family breakfast at Cracker Barrel...can't really see Poppy and Garner in this picture! Happy Birthday Ms. Dot!

We ended the weekend with the 1st Birthday of this little guy - James Nix. He turns one on July 29th (his birthday is one day before mine). I have not laid eyes on this little guy since he was 4 months old -- that's what happens when friends move so far! He is walking and running and is just the cutest little ball of energy! We loved getting to catch up with Sarah and Brad - it's amazing how life changes in just a year!

We are leaving for the Neshoba County Fair on Thursday.....I look forward to it as much as Christmas! Then we are headed to the beach for a few days with my family! It's going to be another short work week -- YAHOO!

Rebel Cake

This weekend we attended the wedding of some our dear friends - Matt and Katie Pittman. Their wedding was very sweet and the reception a lot of fun. This is a picture of the grooms cake. The picture does not do it justice because it was huge. The bride's counsin MADE it -- she is just out of college. The Colonel Reb was molded out of rice krispies. Isn't that an amazing idea?

I have posted a few times before about how handy my hubby has become since we bought this house. However, in the last two months he has really impressed everyone...including himself!

Our backyard is really big and the back of our house is (was) really flat and plain. We needed a deck. Plus I LOVE to sit outside.....my biggest drawback with this house was that there was no porch to hang my swing! In April we got a few quotes and realized it was going to be super expensive. Oliver decided he would at least try to build it himself. We thought that even if he screwed up we could pay someone to finish. Well Oliver got right to work -- researching and talking to people. He had some help from family and friends but basically he built this deck with his own two hands and a 1998 Honda Accord! I wish I had gotten a picture of him loading all the wood into his car....he literally borrowed a truck two times -- thanks James and Matt!

We got the furniture July 4th weekend...since then we have been relaxing and enjoying the deck as much as possible.
