Mexico

We've spent the last 6 nights in Mexico, sans the girls, to celebrate Reid Gresham's wedding.  The bride and groom had almost 90 people fly down for the wedding.  With that many people, we had a monopoly over the resort and especially the swim up pool bar.  I read two books and drank too many margaritas!

The water was beautiful.  Even this guy, who doesn't just love the beach, sat with me under an umbrella for more time that he has since our honeymoon in 2007!

We only left the resort one day to do some adventures.  Good thing we bought a CD of pictures because I don't think anyone would believe I ziplined or repelled.  And I probably won't do it again --- much more of a sit under the umbrella type person!

The last two stops on the "adventure" package were the two things I wanted to do --- swim in the caves and see the ancient ruins at Telum.  The caves were amazing and the water was COLD.

We sure are thankful to be home with the girls.  Many many thanks to my mother and grandmother for spending the week with these girls, hauling them back and forth to MS, and even spending Net's birthday with them!  We took them to the pool yesterday and it was FREEZING.  We had a good time though! Poppy fell down in the baby pool and kept saying, "Poppy fell down."  She is really making sentences and always refers to herself as Poppy.  Mary Thorne on the other hand refers to herself as "Me."  I think they all grew 2 inches in the last week!

Swim and Swim

Elizabeth Magee can swim!  I am now a true believer in two-weeks-every-single-day-$250-swimming lessons!  This child went from the above picture (for a solid week) to a racing, swimming, competitive little thing.  She literally cried every turn until they started to "race"....then it was no more tears and she just did it.  I had no idea she was so competitive (just like her daddy)!  I'm so thankful she "got it"!

I

Yesterday was Mother's Day and the girls spoiled me rotten with gifts and handprints.  I've been absolutely banned from having one more handprint framed....the twins have this really cute teacher who makes Pinterest look shabby...and even I will admit I've gone a little overboard with it all!

My mom sent me this picture today and I thought it was a good comparison to our "last day of school" picture for Mary Thorne and Poppy.

Summer - Here We Come!!!!  We have lots of fun trips (big and small) planned for the next few months....can't wait to have some beach time with my girls!  I'm already praying that Mary Thorne likes it a little better this year!

An Elegant Owl

Elizabeth Magee had her first ballet recital yesterday.  She loved every minute and we appreciate so much that Siggi, Frank, Biscuit, and Mark came to watch.  We all learned that "ballet" is a very loosely defined term when it comes to four year olds.

As much as we loved watching her, it was Mary Thorne who was the proudest of all.  Elizabeth Magee's flowers are blocking Mary Thorne's face but she was so proud -- look at the reflection in the glass behind the picture:

We got a slight black eye two hours before the recital.  Luckily all the make-up covered it up!
