A Break

 My parents and in-laws gave me a great little gift this week.....they kept the girls for a whole week!  While I needed the break and appreciate it more than I can ever express.....I am so ready for my babies to be home!  It's very strange going through the day without at least one baby on my hip.  I called my mother in law in tears on Wednesday and asked her to bring them home on Friday.....I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful family!

We did do some really fun things this week -- we basically had an unplanned college reunion between spending the night in Jackson with my college roommate on Friday, an engagement party in Greenwood on Saturday,  and Oliver's bff from college coming into town on Sunday. So fun to get to visit with sweet friends that we don't see nearly enough!

All in all, I"m ready to see these little faces:

Out for the Summer

 Elizabeth Magee's Mother's Morning Out ended today!  I have to admit that I cried dropping her off and picking her up!  She's had the sweetest little class and teacher.  I'm so thankful for her great year at MBBC.

When school started in August, she was VERY unsure of it.  She looked like she was going to cry everyday when I dropped her off.  That was a first for us because she loved MMO in Memphis and St. Luke's after we moved here -- she never wanted to leave in the afternoons!  But I think she had a lot of change and starting the 2Y class was an adjustment.

I think her sweet friend Ticer helped with the adjustment!  These two are a MESS.  Their teacher had to separate them from hugging and kissing at one point this year --- I'm sure if that's the case in 10 years I won't be blogging about it :)

Ms. Becky said she today that she thinks Elizabeth Magee is going to grow up and be a great little mama --- I think so too!  She's so caring and compassionate!

Here is the whole class minus Wake Rushin and Mac Chambliss!  Such a sweet class -- I guess they will not be together again until Mountain Brook Junior High!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was quite the celebration this year.  Elizabeth's Magee class had the moms for a "Munchies with Mom" lunch date on Thursday.  It was quite possibly my favorite 30 minutes ever.  Each child gave their mom a little survey they had filled out.  Elizabeth Magee said our favorite thing to do was "play babies."  I guess that's what she thinks we've been doing for the last 14 months!  Oliver and the girls spoiled me all day on Sunday, gave me some beautiful rings, a mani/pedi, and a precious card with handprints!  I'm so blessed to be the mother of these three!  My love for them grows every single day and I think I'm a more compassionate person everyday because of them.

On Monday, Poppy came for a little visit.  Elizabeth Magee spent all Monday morning looking out the window, waiting for her.....she wouldn't even go to the tot lot because she thought she'd miss Poppy!  She said she hoped that Poppy would bring her Pepper Crackers but if she forgot they could make some together.  She reminded that we couldn't use the crackers in the fridge (club crackers) but had to get the square ones out (saltine).  I was pretty impressed!

My children turn into little birdies around Poppy....begging for a sip of her coke.  When we walk into the grocery store and EM sees a bottle of coke she says, "Poppy drinks coke."  She also told Mary Thorne to go stand by "the Poppys" on Monday afternoon.  I love a conversation with a three year old!

I took EM to her 3 year wellness visit on Monday afternoon.  She weighs 31 pounds and is 40 inches tall -- 50th percentile for weight and 95th for height!

After we took EM to school on Tuesday, Poppy and I took the twins for their one year appointment.  Our first clue that shots weren't going to go well was that they both LOST IT will getting weighed. You would have thought the nurse was pulling toe nails.  I'd been putting this appointment off because I just knew I couldn't handle it by myself.  Anyway, Mary Thorne weighed 19.3 pounds and was 31.5 inches long - 10th percentile weight and the 90th for height.  Poppy weighed 18.3 pounds and 30 inches long -- 5th percentile for weigh and 50-75th percentile for height.

If You're Happy and You Know It.....

 I'm sure that every mother thinks their children are the most clever and the cutest on the block....but mine really are.....just kidding!  But Mary Thorne has started doing something that I think is really really clever.  She "acts" out the if you're happy and you know it song.  I tried to catch it on camera yesterday....

 Say Hooray!  It's a good thing she's so cute because sometime I think I'm going to pinch her if she dumps the dog food out one more time!  Her other favorite things: climbing stairs, climbing on anything and everything, and opening and closing doors.  Elizabeth Magee says at least once a day, "Mary Thorne loves doors."

I bought this dress for EM when she was less than 6 months old -- I can still remember putting it in my online shopping cart while sitting at my desk at work and thinking she'll never be big enough to wear this dress but it was on clearance for $20 bucks and I loved the birds....she now loves the color purple and so I pulled it out this morning before school.  I can't believe we only have a few weeks of "school" left - this year has flown by and she's learned so much.  She went from being the shy little girl in the class to being the bossy pants of the class.  I love her sweet teacher and the other children in her class! She's learned so much - she can recite the Pledge of Allegiance!   I love that we walk to school (I'm going to miss this the most next year but excited to have church and school at the same place)!  This morning on the way to school a motorcycle passed us and she said, "Mama, we have to get one of those."  I can't believe that in August she'll go to school three days a week!  Yikes -- real school is so close -- I want to hold on to this sweet stage!!!

Gotta to give a little update on my Poppy.  She's adorable and she knows it.  Her newest "trick" is she yells, "mama, mama. mama, and then tries to show me what she wants."  Like if she wants to swing, she'll go stand under it and yell, "mama, mama, mama."  She has also started saying "dog" this week! Life is full and busy and wonderful and I'm so happy to be home with my babies!

Double Decker

My girls spent some time with William Faulkner today at Double Decker....EM was very skeptical at first....she didn't know if he was "real" or not.  She kept asking, "why hasn't he been made real?" -- Reminded me of the Velveteen Rabbit book and how the really loved bunny becomes real.  I hope they can all go to Ole Miss and take the same William Faulkner class I did --- he'll always live in Oxford!

Our Easter

I caught the twins playing in my dining room curtains on Good Friday.  They were having so much fun running and taking turns hiding.  They were laughing the entire time and had no idea I was watching.

We got two extremely short visits from Aunt Sis and Uncle Ryan last week.  It helped the week feel more like a holiday to have Sis here twice!  I'm going to love being halfway between Greenville and Senatobia -- I bet we get a few more visits in the next four years than we have in the last two!

 Saturday we had two more Easter Egg hunts.  The Crestline Easter Egg hunt was complete with a HUGE bunny coming in on the fire truck.  Elizabeth Magee was so scared of him -- she couldn't even hunt eggs and was ready to go as soon as he arrived!

  Then we went to Mountain Brook Baptist for her school Easter Egg hunt.  She was much happier and a champion at hunting eggs:

The Easter Bunny found our house too!  We got to hunt eggs in our pjs and then go hunt more eggs at Aunt Cin's house!  When I asked EM if she wanted to take some of her candy to Aunt Cin's house she said, "No, Aunt Cin has a lot of candy!"

The lady who made our Easter dresses didn't have them ready in time for Sunday.....but Elizabeth Magee wore Caroline's dress --- so sweet and special --- especially since we were with them for Easter! Many thanks to our B'ham family for making the weekend so special -- I didn't have to cook breakfast or lunch on Sunday -- such a treat for me :)

Palm Sunday

 A sweet lady in our church is also a photographer.  She sent me these two adorable pictures from Palm Sunday.  This may be my favorite picture of Lambie.....I love the palm in the picture.  I dread the day when Lambie isn't in all my favorite pictures!
